An experience has a holistic character. It
involves not only intellect and emotion
separately, but also the connection between
these two modes of perception.
To engage with perception always means to
engage with all the senses, within the cycle of
perceiving – thinking – acting.
These three elements in the organization of
aesthetic processes are equally important and
continuously interconnected. In a complete
aesthetic process, none of these elements
should be missing.
Furthermore, working with one's own body is
both the prerequisite and the center of all our
sensory activities.
Observation is often neglected as a special
function of perception. Yet it is beneficial to
deliberately "stretch" sensory experiences. In
this way, our experience of the world becomes
more vivid, more clearly contoured, and richer
in nuance.
In the workshops of this academy, we aim to
explore and practically investigate which
aspects of the "School of the Senses" we can
support, expand, and strengthen.
